2 New Yellowstone Spinoff Series Announced

Just when “Yellowstone” fans thought they couldn’t get more from the phenomenally popular neo-Western drama, Paramount just delivered some major announcements sure to excite. The network confirmed not one but two brand new spinoff series set within the show’s universe are officially in the works!

Exploring the 6666 Ranch

Exploring the 6666 Ranch

First is an installment entitled “6666” focusing on the historic 6666 Ranch in West Texas known as the first enterprise in the state to utilize fencing and established cattle ranching. Details remain limited but the show will likely follow a new cast of characters operating the ranch, offering “a stark exploration of the violent world of the old West.”

Another Origin Story

The other spinoff, “1932,” will function as yet another origin prequel to anchor series “Yellowstone.” Serving as a direct followup to previous origin story “1883,” “1932” will follow a new generation of Duttons running the Yellowstone Ranch during Western Expansion and Prohibition against the backdrop of the Great Depression.

Star Power Behind the Camera

Heavyweights like Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren are already attached to star as ancestors of Kevin Costner’s John Dutton character, anchoring what promises to be an epic ensemble. Iconic creator Taylor Sheridan will write and direct substantial portions of both shows.

Ever-Expanding Frontier Tales

While plot and casting specifics largely remain a guessing game for now, these twin announcements confirm one thing. The “Yellowstone” universe Sheridan spawned is showing no limits to its frontier storytelling potential across a variety of Wild West time periods. Between two prequels and a side vehicle set in Texas, fans can look forward to cowboy tales as far as the eye can see!
